“ARE” were appointed for the condition assessment of the reinforced concrete elements for 10 chambers within the 2 high point reservoirs (R1 & R2), each reservoir of size 725m x 325m and 7.5m depth, and used for storing water prior to its transmission to Riyadh.
The settlement in the floor slab and cracking in the columns was to be investigated and recommendations had to be made for the rehabilitation works necessary to restore the structural integrity of the reservoirs.
