The Saudi ARAMCO, appointed “ARE” to provide HAZOP studies by their East-West Pipeline Department. The scope of work consisted of providing a facilitator and technical secretary/scribe for the performance of the HAZOP/SIL. The scope also included preparation and report writing. The Proponent provided all relevant information to be used during the studies such as previous HAZOP and SIL Study reports, Safety Requirements Specifications SRS, Safety Instrumented Functions List, Cause and Effects diagrams/charts, MOC records, including reference drawings e.g. P&IDs, PFD etc.
The HAZOP/SIL workshops were also held at the VENDOR facilities in Saudi Arabia. The objective of the HAZID workshop was to develop a Hazard and Effects that can be used to demonstrate that all hazards and effects have been identified, are understood and are being properly controlled.
