Risk Analysis and Contract Administration ::

ARP is associated with Systech International who has advised upon a broad range of international contracts covering civil engineering, building, power, process, petro-chemical, offshore and shipbuilding work.

The Alrabiah-Systech association is of benefit to our clients as we can investigate live projects and provide an independent report upon performance, cost and time overruns and consequential risks. We can advise them of the correct contractual/legal position and provide a positive strategy to resolve the problem.

In today's ever increasing commercial environment, it is important that parties involved in any contract administer this to its full potential, in order to maximise their contractual entitlements. We frequently assist by ensuring that such notices, reports, documentation and correspondence are properly initiated and maintained throughout the duration of the project.

Arbitration and Claims Preparation ::

Dr. Abdulrahman Alrabiah is the chairman of the Saudi Arbitration Committee and has memberships of the following international arbitration institutions:

  • London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA)

  • UNCITRAL

  • GCC Commercial Arbitration Centre

  • International Court of Arbitration – International Chamber of Commerce

ARP have experience both legally and technically to either prepare, appraise or defend claims for extensions of time, prolongation costs, disruption costs, acceleration costs or recovery of disputed variations.

ARP provide our clients with powerful and experienced teams that combine the three crucial elements necessary for the proper analysis of claims, namely legal, time and financial aspects. ARP could also provide services as conciliator, mediator, and member of a dispute review board or adjudicator.

Value Engineering and Project Cost Analyses ::

ARP provides specialised consulting services pertaining to the value engineering of civil, commercial and other works which tend to be one-time capital projects. Maximum benefits can be achieved by applying it in an early design stage as feasible. Changes or redirection of design can be accomplished without extensive redesigning, large implementation cost or schedule impacts.

Typically, for large projects, value engineering studies are conducted during the schematic stage and at the design development stage. The improvement can be measured in terms of monetary aspects and/or other critical factors such as productivity, quality, time, energy, environmental impact and durability.

Safety Management and Service Life Study ::

ARP can appraise the durability of structures while they are still on the drawing board. The cost of significant improvement at this stage will often be very modest compared to the resulting savings in later maintenance costs.

The classic elements in the design of durable concrete or steel include sound materials, adequate protective measures against aggressive environment and sound structural design practice. Theoretical models based on these elements allow predictions to be made for the degradation of the different elements of the structure and a desired design lifetime may be achieved by adjusting the relevant parameters accordingly.

Construction in a hot climate presents particular difficulties, and a well-considered design may be ruined by construction errors or inadequate workmanship on the construction site. It is possible to reduce the risk of mishaps and to improve the workmanship by ensuring that the works are properly planned, monitored, and documented as part of a proper Quality Assurance Program.

ARP offers its assistance in reviewing the Quality Control Program and monitoring the subsequent QC activities during construction.

ARP also provides specialist advice on specific problems within Civil, Electrical or Mechanical works.
